Topic: Damage of the environment is an inevitable consequence of worldwide improvements in the standard of living. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Human standard of living get better, it will have a negative effect to the environment. Example, if people build more factories to service human life, those factories could put poison gas into the air. And they could discharged toxic waste in the land. People choose to focus on improving the standard of living without any concern about their surrounding environment. If some people have a plan to build a factory, they will forget one thing: what factory will affect on the environment and although it improved life style but they have many negative consequences to our environment. For instance, in Viet Nam, recently there is a factory called Formosa in Ha Tinh, it is a big factory and built in many places all over the world but these factories released many drain water into sea which makes a lot of fishes dead and serious pollution with undersea environment.

On the other hand, it really depends on how the government of each country handle it. For example, Singapore is known as one of the advance countries in the world, where both the living standard and environment are admirable. This country is one of the greenest, cleanest country in the world. So personally, I claim that our government should have positive and serious solutions to make our environment cleaner.  

I would agree that the improvement of the living standard have affected negatively to the environment. But each government should manage between improving the living standard and maintaining the environment, that will make the world better. I am a Vietnamese and I hope Vietnam can be like Singapore, and become one of the greenest countries all over the world in near future. To do that I have to start from myself then I will propagate to all my friends to protect the environment together.
